Had a great time shooting these amazing people. The stamina of one group to dance hard for over an hour left me astounded.

Last month I took a trip to Taos and West into Georgia Okeefe country then up to the Cumbres and Toltec railroad in Chama New Mexico.  Got a bunch of shots around the train yard and followed the train towards Antonito. Along the way I switched the camera to video and pointed it at the train climbing the wedding cake mountain to reach the summit. Here it is. Enjoy.

In the past ten days it's been a different set of weather conditions. It started out with small patches of yellow on the tree outside my door and I just got back from Canon City, Victor and Cripple Creek. The color there will peak in the next few days and I plan on going up again tomorrow. The photo I've placed is the Independence. It was Myron Stratton's bonanza that took him from a carpenter to a philanthropist. His legacy is the Myron Stratton Home on South Nevada Ave. in Colorado Springs. The next one is Gasmask man taken on the main drag in Victor. These people know how to landscape a yard.

It's the back end of August already and I'm trying to squeeze in every last drop of good weather to find worthwhile things to shoot. The day before yesterday it stopped raining and I got to go shoot at a spot that I hadn't covered before on a road called Spruce Mountain. There's a depression era stone overpass that the Southbound BNSF trains go over and I posted them towards the last of my "Rails" category. One or two of them is a locomotive passing through or over while the remainder of the train passes on the opposing track. I need to go back and shoot from the other side looking West, hopefully with a setting sun coming through the tunnel.
